Classical piano pieces from Japan, Guatemala, Germany and the Czech Republic
Two pianists from Japan and Guatemala will perform Smetana's "Die Moldau", "Bilder aus Osten" by R. Schumann, as well as a selection of the piano suite "The Four Seasons of Japan" by Yoshinao Nakada and some solo pieces from their home countries.
Estuardo Hernandez is a pianist from Guatemala, but has been based in Halle (Saale) and Berlin respectively for six years. He studied in Costa Rica, the USA and Germany and holds two Masters in Artistic Piano and Piano Pedagogy. He completed his concert exam with Prof. Albrecht Hartmann at the MLU Halle-Wittenberg. Hernandez has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, Händelhaus Halle (Saale), Liszt-Haus in Weimar and other halls in Israel, Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Italy.
Dr. Miho Ohki is a pianist from Japan. She studied at the Yokohama National University and at the University of Erfurt, as well as at the MLU Halle-Wittenberg with Prof. Jochen Köhler and did her doctorate on the topic of "Mental Training for Musicians". She has already played in various cities in Japan and Germany such as Tochigi, Tokyo, Yokohama, Merseburg, Halle, Erfurt, Leuna, Bad Läuchstedt, Pulsnitz and Quedlinburg. Since 2019 she teaches piano and chamber music at the University of Erfurt and gives seminars in the field of "Mental Training for Music Practitioners".
