From cricket to football, from curry to schnitzel, from 40 to 10 degrees, from indecision to courage: Mercy Rethna, born in 1993 in Tiruchirappalli (India), is a software developer and author and was able to fulfil a great wish in 2019: a year of voluntary service at the Francke Foundations. She quickly realised that every day in Germany was both a learning experience and a challenge to reconcile her own culture with the new one. Inspired by this time, she wrote an autobiography to encourage prospective emigrants and empower women to realise their dreams.
