Opening of the annual programme 2025 »All in order?«
Every year around the birthday of the foundation's founder, the Francke Celebration takes place, inviting guests from near and far to an inspiring festive program with high-level concerts, exclusive guided tours, an exhibition opening, playful children's activities, the commemorative hour at the Francke Monument and the café at the historic wood-fired oven. At the same time, the festive event on Saturday will be the inspiring prelude to our annual theme “All in order?”.
This year's keynote speaker is transformation researcher and sustainability expert Prof. Dr. Maja Göpel.
With concerts, children's activities, the memorial hour at the Francke monument and the café at the historic wood-fired oven, we invite you to enjoy a rich programme.
Connoisseurs and aficionados know about the special nature of the format: two of the most talented students of the instrumental branch together create a solo evening in front of a large audience. Look forward with us to Zoya Krushelnitskaya (piano) and Jakob Geiß (bassoon) with Dirk Fischbeck (piano). The young musicians will play works by Bach, Chopin and Debussy, among others.
Organic bakers Fischer and Kirn bake in the 18th-century wood-fired oven in the school town and invite visitors to enjoy coffee and cake.
For more than 25 years, Prof. Dr. Maja Göpel, political economist and transformation researcher, has been working at the interface between science, politics and society, advocating a rethink in business and society based on cooperation rather than competition. On the basis of scientific findings and with stories of joint success, she encourages us to tackle these complex challenges. Her keynote speech will open the annual program »All in order«.
A family program about enjoying glorious disorder and designing different systems of order.
A photo exhibition by Jörg Gläscher about the elemental force of nature, structure, order and the process of becoming and passing away.
An introduction to the digital and interactive contemporary witnesses tour and an invitation to talk about personal memories in the foundations.
The birthday of August Hermann Francke is commemorated with singing, an address and flowers from all the institutions from the foundations. The musical accompaniment will be provided by the Stadtsingechor and Latina Brass.
Accompanied by the motet of the city choir of singers we go into the evening. This spiritual musical hour is combined with the Ecce celebration. We remember not only the deceased alumni of the foundation schools, but also many people who have been committed to the foundations in various ways and from whom we have had to say goodbye forever in the past year.
The Sunday kick-off will be the festive musical service, which we will celebrate in the Marktkirche. The Foundation's pastor Gabriele Zander will preach.
