Interactive lecture
»Thirst for Knowledge« is a series of informative and interactive short lectures, discussion rounds and workshops in the LeoLab, where experts put the world on the dissecting table for us. So grab a lemonade, listen in and get started!

The event will be held in German.
The first instalment in the series looks over the shoulder of Thomas Megel, owner of OpenScan and inventor from Halle. From the real object to the digital model and via the 3D printer back into the world of the tangible, from huge to handy, from invisible to extreme zoom: his workshop is home to a large pool of inventions. Where the human eye reaches its limits, imaging processes can open up insights into hidden worlds. Look forward to an extreme zoom experience!

We use maps to make the world around us manageable. They guide us and our view of space. The Map(ac)tivism workshop with Lea Bauer from the University of Leipzig invites you to reverse the process and map it yourself in an artistic-geographical mode. Here you can practise creating your own maps and using mapping as a tool for the everyday co-creation of space. After a short introduction, mapping will open up a creative space for you: during a short walk we will collect impressions of the surrounding area, look for unusual connections between the different perceptions using (art)graphic means and then design new images and maps with your views of the area.
