Night at the Museums
Totally surreal!
Totally surreal!
What is real? What goes on behind the visible world? Do we see the whole of reality or do we only remain on the surface? The elaborate illumination by light artist Bernd E. Gengelbach in the Freylinghausen Hall plays with our perceptions and our imagination. A look into the Lindenhof of the 18th century surprisingly expands our view of history. Figures from the Wunderkammer, animals, ghosts, people and much more colonise the interior of the houses. The composer and guitarist Stefan Sell interacts congenially with the illumination. The result is a hybrid spectacle of acoustic and digital sounds and millions of glowing neurones. Surprising, magical! Playfully discover a different reality with us on Museum Night!
In addition to the illumination of the Freylinghausen Hall, the illuminated historic Lindenhof with its garden restaurant will also impress you. Of course, we offer guided tours of the exhibitions, the Wunderkammer and the library throughout the night. The family programme will be fantastic: here you can track down the monstrous, build dreamscapes and take an (un)real look at the stars. Welcome to the world space!
