Come and visit us during the Easter holidays!
Exhibitions
Visit the baroque Cabinet of Artefacts and Natural Curiosities in the attic of the Historic Orphanage or the temporary art exhibition ‘wood, waves and energy’ by Jörg Gläscher. The exhibition on the most beautiful pieces in our archive in the Historical Library is open until 14 2025 April.
Kindly note:
- During the Easter holidays, our exhibitions will also be open for you on Good Friday and Easter Monday!
- The Historical Library will be closed to visitors from 14 April until probably the beginning of July due to renovation work on the building
Family Hour in the Museum
On the first Sunday of every month, the Family Hour takes a closer look at very special treasures and stories from the foundations. The child-friendly tour takes a look behind the scenes of the museum and ends with a sociable hands-on activity. To kick off the Easter holidays, we will be going to the Freylinghausen Hall on 6 April!
Easter Holidays for Children in the Krokoseum
During the Easter holidays, the Krokoseum children's creative centre awakens from its winter rest and offers its visitors a colourful children's programme from 7 to 17 April 2025. The programme is based on the annual theme ‘Everything okay?’. Together with the children, we want to welcome spring creatively, experiment with colours, play and experience all kinds of ‘Eastery’ things. You can find all the latest information about the programme and registration on the Easter holiday programme on the website or on Instagram @krokoseum
Easter Holidays for teens in the TiQ
There's a lot going on at TiQ during the holidays - and you're in demand! Holiday brunch, yoga and creative handicrafts as well as our highlight, a two-day photography workshop (catch-up date), sound interesting to you? You can find all the details in our holiday programme! Registration and the holiday overview can be found on the TiQ website and on Instagram @tiq_jugendclub
»Die Stimmen der Dinge« in the Wunderkammer
Dear children,
I need your help. More than 3,000 things in the Francke Foundations' Wunderkammer are my friends: Jenny, the large model ship, Wilhelm, the fibreglass wig or Nautilus, the ammonite. At night in the museum, we keep ourselves awake with the most exciting stories from our lives.
I have now realised with horror that oblivion is wreaking havoc in the Wunderkammer. It is robbing my friends of their memories! I have to help them remember again.
You need a mobile phone or tablet with an internet connection and a desire for creative solutions with paper, scissors, jelly or a decoding disc. Once you have solved the tasks in the game, you can listen to exciting audio plays about sailors' yarns or the real adventures of my friends.
Your Nile crocodile Tayé
PS: The Wunderkammer is open Tuesdays-Fridays 10am-5pm. Admission is free up to the age of 18. My tip: Pick up the flyer for the game ‘Die Stimmen der Dinge’ at the information centre, colour in the Wunderkammer hidden object picture and come to the exhibition together with your parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles free of charge! There you will also find a hands-on station about my friend Rochus. I'll be waiting for you!
