Cooperation in the lecture series »Wissenschaftshistorische Seminare«

In the »Wissenschaftshistorische Seminare« (WHS, »History of Science Seminars«), leading scholars from the field of early modern history of knowledge and science regularly present their research findings. The long-standing cooperation between the Leopoldina – Nationale Akademie der Wissenschaften and the Francke Foundations in organising and holding these lecture and discussion evenings is an enriching and strengthening factor for Halle (Saale) as a centre of science and scholarship. In 2022, the continuation of the series between the two institutions has been agreed for a further five years. The following events have been held jointly in the festive setting of the Freylinghausen Hall of the Francke Foundations and, for some time now, also in a hybrid format with an increasingly supraregional and international profile:
